MineStar Command technology allows remote control of the machine with or without a line-of-sight. The Cat D10 can even be operated remotely with no operator in the cabin. They can reduce track slippage (and thus improve traction and minimize wear), curtail operator fatigue, and benefit productivity. Optional automation features such as AutoCarry and AutoRip have been updated to be easier to use and more efficient. The D10’s cabin sports a new 10-inch touchscreen display with an intuitive control system. A powered access ladder with lockout protection helps the operator safely enter and exit the machine.

Technology Upgrades The newest D10 comes with a stator clutch torque divider, a high-horsepower reverse gear, and new push-arm bearing inserts that are more reliable and quicker to rebuild. Another more efficient feature is the D10’s single-plane cooling system, which has a radiator that’s easier to access and clean. The dozer has more available power to the ground due to a load-sensing hydraulic system that flows oil only when directed to, reducing parasitic draw. The new D10 also comes with new push-arm bearing inserts that are more reliable and quicker to rebuild. The latter provides up to 20% more power when reversing, making downhill dozing operations more productive. The updated engine features integrated fuel lines for reliability and a larger engine oil sump that extends oil change intervals.Īn elevated sprocket drive and a new stator clutch torque divider come standard on the new Cat dozer, as does a high-horsepower reverse gear. Other aftertreatment systems will be available for markets with less stringent environmental requirements. The machine is powered by a refreshed Cat C27 diesel engine with Tier 4 Final and EU Stage V emissions compliance.

Extra Power For Downhill WorkĬat gave the new D10 (known as the D10T2 until a couple years ago) a modular design. The newest Cat D10 dozer is scheduled to become available in mid-2022. Cat also seeks to decrease the new D10’s total cost of ownership with more durable components, longer service intervals, and new integrated technologies. The big machine features improvements that reduce its fuel consumption by up to 4%, increase its productivity by up to 3%, and improve its operating efficiencies by up to 6%, according to the manufacturer.
